Or: How Love and Life got in the way of updating my website
So - it's been almost two years now since I met Daphne. We hit it right off, and our relationship developed pretty rapidly. Over the past two years...
We traveled - a LOT: To Sedona, Altanta, North Carolina, Oregon, Indiana, Amsterdam, Spain... and probably even more places that I'm forgetting. It's been a whirlwind - and I had intended to write articles about each adventure - but I was always too busy recovering from one excursion, or planning for the next.
We also had QUITE the adventure in the middle of the Nevada desert, at Black Rock City for Burning Man 2006. You'll find photos in the image gallery - what an experience! Unfortunately, we had too much going on during the fall of 2007, so had to sell our tickets - but we've already received our 2008 tickets, so... BRC, here we come!
Finally, a year after we met - Daphne and I got engaged! Of course, being the caching geek that I am - I chose a slightly unique way to propose.
I've got a few other posts I want to make - but mostly, wanted to get this "two year catch-up" down on paper, so I can try to get back to some sort of regular posting.

OR: Grab your tuques, we're going to Canadia, eh?
In mid-December 2005, good friend and colleague Kurt invited me up to Whistler, for a week of riding and a slope-side time share that his dad has had for years.
It was great to meet Will, and the rest of the crew north of the border. Even a chance to meet some of his old school buddies - I would say a Good Time [tm] was had by ALL.
Thanks for the invite, Kurt!

Or: I'm a ramblin' guy, R-A-M-B-L-I-N... apostrophe, I'm ramblin'
It seems I've been on the road a LOT in 2004. Actually started at the end of last year, with a Christmas cruise from Bourbon Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans to the ruins of Chichen Itza in Mexico to scuba diving in Cozumel.
Then, it was off to Washington DC in March for a 3-day conference. Then a whirlwind tour of New York for Dan and Marissa's wedding. What a fantastic day, and an exciting trip. Exciting doesn't describe driving the rental car in Manhattan with NYC cabbies!
More recently, a week-long road trip up to Mt. Angel, Oregon to visit my parents for a few days. We stopped off to visit friends in Grants Pass, and geocached our way up and down the I-5 corridor (74 finds on this little jaunt).
Finally, I'm here in San Diego for the week attending another conference. It's a packed agenda, and not much spare time - but the weather is NICE, and SD is such a cool city. Ocean Beach, Mission Bay, Balboa Park, Coronado...
Add in an insane amount of work, sprinkle with a liberal dose of wakeboarding, dirt biking, and geocaching - and I've been a pretty busy guy. Too busy to keep up with all the photo galleries - I'm falling behind!
Where to next? My vote is for somewhere in South America!
Happy Trails,
Billy

Articles: Droppin' Some NYC... |

In planning for the WICed Fest snowboard trip (more on that to follow) I decided to fly into JFK a day early, staying with my friends Dan and Marissa on Long Island. The extra day gave me a chance to play Big Apple tourist - and I think I did a pretty good job. Miles of walking, train and subway riding put me in front of pretty much every landmark I could think of, from Central Park to Ground Zero.
You can see my snapshots here, and read the extended text for a full walk-through.
Enjoy - I sure did!
